The Gawd really went in on this performance. I mean, this shit has to be hard to perform. I ran outta breath just watching the shit! And yeah, this might be the 2nd time I’ve posted this. Whatever. Fuck you. Pedantic twat. Go find some decent original bloggy content on a Sunday. Yeah. Bitch.
Maybe The Roots brought it out of him or he figured he could go at full tilt since he was just doing the one song, but his live performances generally don’t get the “full syllable” treatment - meaning that he’s in the somewhat lazy (and common among rappers) practice of skipping entire words and bars while performing. Call me biased, but I grant the Gawd a pass for that shit because those verses are lyrically dense as all the fucks. Sometimes, you’ll get the words OR the voice, but not both (for instance, Jigga tends to get most of the words, but the control/voice slacks into a whisper as he keeps going). You get less leeway from this nerd when your raps require the technique of a 3 year old yelling at his mom and you’re STILL skipping lines and using backing vocals.
Anyway, this is what real niggas do on Sunday mornings when they fail to go out on Saturday nights. They watch rap videos and blog about them. SMH.
Then they listen to some Rick Rawse in lieu of listening to a pastor wearing a hoody. Then they consider buying some crabs meats later. Wit da heavy budda. UNGH!

A contender for my favorite Nas song (helped by the fact that it has a video - unlike ‘Take It In Blood’. Then again, ‘Take In In Blood’ has enough vivid imagery to form the basis of several movie scripts) given that I get goosebumps every time I hear the opening notes. And I’ve heard this literally thousands of times - especially this week after Nas tweeted this video out as his song of the week.
I was also thinking that it would be really cool to hear Nas in public again. Like at a club or bar or some shit. It’s been a minute since that happened. I hope he plans to change that in 2012. That verse on ‘Triple Beam Dreams’ was crazy, but that ain’t the type of shit you hear out and about these days. Then again, Nasir’s never really been about that singles/radio play life, so I can’t complain about not hearing his shit outchea.
For now, I’ll just chill in the crib, bump some Nas and do dork shit like a BAWSE…
